Beyonce reeleases sixth album LEMONADE

Beyoncé has again surprise  released a new studio album. Ahead of the start of the Formation World Tour on Wednesday , Lemonade  was released in the early hours exclusively through TIDAL streaming service.

The 12 track album features appearances from Jack White , The Weeknd , Kendrick Lamar and James Blake.
There is no word yet on when a physical release is due or indeed when the album will be available on iTunes.

LEMONADE  is yet another visual album , just like 2013's self titled album. The short film was aired on HBO last night in America. The 60 minute visual mixed breath taking imagery and told the story of a woman scorned as Beyoncé narrated. The film sent Twitter in overdrive last night. Conspiracy theorists also waxed lyrical on the state of Beyoncé and Jay Z 's marriage after the film aired.

The movie showed ten stages - intuition , denial , anger , apathy , loss , reformation , forgiveness , resurrection , hope and redemption.
Lemonade is now available on TIDAL exclusively. The site describes the album as a  "conceptual project based on every woman's journey of self knowledge and acceptance "

Pink - Her 25 Greatest Hits

Pink has roared back onto the scene this week with her first new solo material in over four years. Just Like Fire , a guitar strewn pop banger siundtracks the forthcoming Through The Looking Glass movie , the follow up to 2011's Alice In Wonderland.

Its a welcome return from the 36 year old pop queen. Her last album was 2012's chart topping The Truth About Love.

As yet we await confirmation of that seventh studio album from our favourite pop act.  But this new single perhaps kickstarts the latest era in a sixteen year career of dizzying highs. And that's just her on stage acrobatics.
Having burst onto the scene in 2000 with the R&B fiest of There You Go , Pink has shifted over 135million albums and won a string of Grammy Awards. Her live shows have become a spectacle of dazzling acrobatics , both visually and vocally.

Despite the huge record sales and a rabid following , Pink remains one of musics most underrated talents. This , despite the fact , that she has mor ethan held her own with her more written about contemporaries the past 16 years.

So , The Playlist , has decided to honour the long awaited return of Pink with a definitive ranking of 25 best hits to date. This only includes official singles , therefore popular album tracks such as My Vietnam , I'm Not Dead , Unwind , Cuz I Can, Ave Mary A and Slut Like You.

25.  Feel Good Time  (2003 )
24.  Funhouse     (2009 )
23.  You Make Me Sick  (2001 )
22.  Blow Me (One Last Kiss )   (2012 )
21.  God Is A DJ  (2004 )

20.   I Don't Believe You   ( 2009)  Album: Funhouse
US Chart Peak  -   UK  Chart Peak 62

The final single taken form Funhouse sees Pink deliver one of the greatest vocal performances of her career. The track is her at her most vulnerable and emotive. One of the highlights of that fifth album , it is a goosebump inducing ballad that deserved a bigger chart performance. Sparse ,and ultimately affecting. Stunning

19.  Trouble ( 2003 )  Album: Try This
US Chart Peak 68  UK Chart Peak  7

The lead single from Try This was highly anticipated after the commercial performance of Misunadaztood. Trouble would win Pink a Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal. The track was helmed by Rancid's Tim Armstrong and showed Pink turning the rock edge up a notch. It received a mixed reception at the time. But its held up well over the years. Most notably when Pink strips it down for an acoustic version.

18. Most Girls (2000 )  Album: Cant Take Me Home
US Chart Peak  4  UK Chart Peak  5

This was Pinks biggest hit of the Cant Take Me Home era. And undoubtedly one of the standout tracks of the often maligned debut album.
Pink showcases an incredible knack for R&B and the song sees her assert that shes "not most girls ", The song was oddly left off her 2010 Greatest Hits collection. But was revived on the 2013 Truth About Love Tour

17.   Leave Me Alone ( I'm Lonely )  (2007 )   Album: I'm Not Dead
US Chart Peak -   UK Chart Peak  34

Her 2006 album I'm Not Dead is probably Pinks best album to date. This was the final single lifted from a hugely successful comeback era. Its spiky , punchy pop is often overlooked given its dismal chart performance. But its become a live staple featuring on her last three tours. It s afun , throwaway  but glorious power pop two fingers.

16.  Stupid Girls (2006 )  Album: I'm Not Dead
US Chart Peak 13   UK Chart Peak  4

The lead single from I'm Not Dead provided Pink with one of the most memorable videos of her career. Poking fun at tabloid favourites like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan earned her another MTV Video Music Award. The track sees Pink lament the celebrity culture that celebrates stupid girls.

15. Please Don't Leave Me ( 2009 ) Album: Funhouse
US Chart Peak 17   UK Chart Peak  12

This bouncy cut with its superb accompanying Misery inspired video was the third single from Funhouse. Playful yet vulnerable , it serves as one of Pinks most underrated tracks.

14. Family Portrait (2002 )   Album: Misundaztood
US Chart Peak 20   UK Chart Peak 11

One of Pinks most personal songs and a highlight of the classic Misunaztood album. This was confessional , emotive pop , not seen since Like A Prayer era Madonna. Yes , its that good. The song chronicles the divorce of Pinks parents. The track was a sore point for Pink's relationship with her mother. But thankfully , the rift has healed. But 14 years on , it still packs a weighty emotional punch and rounded off the Misundaztood era in intense fashion. It always showed how diverse Pink could be and truly set her apart from her pop contemporaries of the time

13. There You Go (2000 )  Album: Cant Take Me Home
US Chart Peak 7    UK Chart Peak 6

The debut single that heralded the arrival of one pink haired R&B singer , with a huge amount of sass to match the voice. The accompanying video remains one of her most eye catching. I was hooked from the first note. It still stands as a brilliant R&B pop gem. Regardless of whether R&B was Pink's true direction , theres no doubt she can do the genre justice. Ity was edgy and of its time giving Destinys Child and TLC a run for their money

12. U+Ur Hand (2006 ) Album: I'm Not Dead
US Chart Peak 9   UK Chart Peak 10

A raucous and ballsy belter that re-energised the I'm Not Dead album campaign Stateside. Complete with another stunning video that showed Pink at her sexiest. The song is a bitchy kiss off to any horny guy on the prowl. Vintage Pink

11. Sober (2009 )  Album: Funhouse
US Chart Peak 15    UK Chart Peak  9

The bruising comedown from the uproarious and bratty call and response power pop of So What. For Sober , Pink delivered another stunning vocal performance. Her vocals on the Funhouse album are incredible throughout. This solemn track about the "vices we choose " remains one of Pinks most impactful

10. Don't Let Me Get Me (2002 ) Album: Misundaztood
US Chart Peak 8    UK Chart Peak 6

My personal favourite Pink song. This soundtracked a particular angsty summer coming to terms with my sexuality. Pink is on anthemic form recalling how "she was tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears ,she so pretty , that just aint me " she was the very antithesis of the Spears pop of the time.

9. Get The Party Started  (2002 ) Album: Misundaztood
US Chart Peak  4   UK Chart Peak  2

After the mammoth worldwide success of Lady Marmalade , Pink unleashed the pop brilliance of Get The Party Started. Gone was the R&B andin was a fresh , edgy pop sound. This track was helmed by Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes fame. It signalled Pinks true arrival as worldwide pop force. It became one of 2002's biggest hits and would be seen as her signature track for years to come.

8. Raise Your Glass (2010 )  Album: Greatest Hits...So Far
US Chart Peak   1   UK Chart Peak  13

Another US chart topper , this underdog anthem was a huge hit for Pink. Another classic Max Martin cut , it celebrated a decade of chart dominance . Pop at its most glorious, it was a fun , no frills anthem.

7. Just Give Me A Reason ( 2013 )  Album: The Truth About Love
US Chart Peak   1            UK Chart Peak  2

Featuring Fun frontman Nate Ruess , this chart topping ballad has become one of the biggrst hits of Pinks career. And deservedly so. The track hit the top in 21 countries and earned her another two Grammy nominations , including Song of The Year. Another beautiful vocal , this was Pink at her most devastatingly soft and simple. One of the best pop duets of the Noughties

6.  Who Knew (2006 )  Album:  I'm Not Dead
US Chart Peak 9  UK Chart Peak 5

Another devastatingly personal power anthem of love an dloss. The second single from I'm Not Dead is another powerful and emotive sucker punch to the gut.
"My life was insane, I was [in her youth] out of control and doing lots of stupid things. Some of my friends were selling crack, and I got into drugs too. I've always been honest about that, although I don't like going into details. I've got lots of young fans and I wouldn't want to give them any ideas. I found a friend dead from a drug overdose when I was 14. He was a male friend, not a boyfriend. Most of the people at the funeral were just children. It should have been a wake-up call for me, but it wasn't."[

5.  Try (2012 )  Album: The Truth About Love

US Chart Peak 9    UK  Chart Peak 8

"where there is desire, there is gonna be a flame , where there is a flame  someones bound to get burned. But just because it burns , doesn't mean youre gonna die , you gotta get up and try , try , try "

Defiant , powerful , torch song like ad quite possibly the most stunning vocal performance of her career. Try is one of , if not , the standout song from Pinks last studio album. Heartbreaking yet spirited pop. The accompanying video was absolutely stunning. A song that will be belted out of many a stadium for years to come.

4. Dear Mr President (2006 )  Album: I'm Not Dead
US Chart Peak -    UK Chart Peak -

The hit that never was. Pink's jaw dropping open letter to George W Bush became an instant fan favourite. Releasing a track criticising the Bush administration could have been a risky move considering the backlash the Dixie Chicks received. Its songs like this that truly set Pink apart from some of her female pop contemporaries. It was searing pop with a conscience that still resonates a decade later

3.  So What (2008 )  Album: Funhouse
US Chart Peak  1    UK Chart Peak 1

The biggest hit of Pink's career and her first sole US Number 1 , coming eight years into her career. So What is a bratty , addictive , pop romp that became one of 2008's biggest hits. Inspired by the then maital break up between herself and Carey Hart , the accompanying video is gloriously raucous. As the opening salvo from Funhouse , it is a glorious red herring. Big and brash and spiked with trademark Pink attitude , it may very well be her signature hit.

2.  Fuckin Perfect (2011 )  Album: Greatest Hits...So Far
US Chart Peak  2      UK Chart Peak  10

Another soaring underdog anthem that was a perfect fit to celebrate her first decade in music. Edgy and anthemic , this uplifting and empowering belter celebrates individuality. It features another powerhouse vocal and has that overlooked torch song quality tahtr uns through so many Pink classics. Fuckin perfect indeed

1.  Just Like A Pill  (2002 )  Album: Misundaztood

US Chart Peak  8      UK Chart Peak 1

Fourteen yaers on , this remains an indelible part of Pinks stellar discography.  Misundaztood was a classic pop record and blueprint for confessional pop in the Noughties. This was the stand out single. It is a rousing , rock strewn , lighters aloft track that portrays a pop star at the peak of her powers.  It hinted at the sometimes darker and more personal stuff to come and a vocal that has only gotten stronger.

Taylor releases tour video for New Romantics

There was a collective fistpump amongst Taylor Swift fans last minth when she announced New Romantics as the single to close out the phenomenal 1989 era,
The somg has long since been a fervent fan favourite since the albums release in October 2014, appearing as a bonus track, This , despite the fact , that it was easiest the best thing in the record.

Now for the seventh single off the album , Swifty has thrown out the dreaded  live tour video to serve as the New Romantics video.
The video has been met with disappointment amongst fans. Especially given how good the last three videos from the campaign were , after the Style fiasco.

Oh well , its still the prefect swansong to a golden era not just in Swifts career but in pop music in general. 1989 has rightly become a popculture juggernaut and we look forward to the next stage in Swift's already illustrious career.
