After a long tradition , it was decided to move the weekly charts to Friday , which now becomes the international day of album releases in all territories.
Yesterday , the last Sunday chart was announced on BBC radio 1 after nearly 30 years , seeing Lost Frequncies take the top spot.

From this Friday ,  all new albums and singles will be available to purchase in time for the weekend , ending the tradition of new relases on a Monday and the weekly chart on a Sunday.
However the first chart incorporating a whole weeks sales wont come into affect until a week later on Friday July 17th.

Should Years and Years top the charts on Friday , it will only be with five days sales.

Miguel claims to be better than Frank Ocean

Miguel has shrugged off comparisons to fellow R&B stars Frank Ocean and The Weeknd by boldly proclaiming to make better music than both and will have more longevity.

It's a bold if not a debatable claim from the star who's recent album Wildheart was released to a justified chorus of critical acclaim this week.
The stunning new album certainly ranks among the best of the year so far , and its stunning mix of sex , R&B , Prince inspired rock and psychedelia , certainly adds huge weight to his claim.

"To be completely honest — and no disrespect to anyone — I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around."

Miguel said that whilst he and Ocean were not friends , their relations were cordial at best. The singer also feels he will outlast Ocean in the music industry.
"We’ll see who’s in it for the long haul. It’s like a marathon, you know?"

Frank Ocean is expected to release his sophomore album later this year after the success of 2012's Grammy winning channel ORANGE.
Elsewhere , Canadian singer The Weeknd is set for a huge commercial breakthrough with his third album later this year , following the success of Fifty Shades Of grey soundtrack hit Earned It.

Personally , I would love a Miguel and Frank Ocean collaboration in the near future , but I'm remaining neutral on who I think is the better artist. Both men are astonishingly talented and versatile artists who desrve every last shred of acclaim/
