MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2015 - Taylor's hat trick , Bieber's comeback and Nicki & Miley trade shade
Taylor Swift was the belle of the annual popculture ball that is the MTV Video Music Awards 2015 last night.
Accompanied by her squad and co-stars from the heavily nominated Bad Blood video , the 25year old added another 3 moonmen to her mantelpiece including the coveted Video of The Year. She also won Best Female Video for the third time in her career , thanks to Blank Space.
The singer would later re-appear on stage to present Kanye West with the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. She made reference to West's infamous stage invasion back in 2009 when Swift won her first VMA.
But it was host Miley Cyrus who nabbed the headlines again , two years after her shocking performance with Robin Thicke.
As Nicki Minaj accepted Best Hip Hop Video for Anaconda , the rapper barked at Cyrus - "Now back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press -Miley whats good "
Cyrus had been interviewed ahead of the ceremony and had condemned Minaj's sour graes about Anaconda being snubbed for a Video Of The Year nomination.
In typically cheeky fashion , Cyrus responded by saying that press interviews can be manipulated ,but not before taking a side swipe at Minaj when commenting on an upcoming award which Cyrus missed out on previously.
" I didn't complain about not winning and persevered until I did "
The star studded bash at the Microsoft Theatre in LA saw performances from Justin Bieber , who performed current worldwide smash What Do Yu Mean for the very first time and seemed overcome by the positive reception he recived.
Other performances came from Nicki Minaj , The Weeknd , Macklemore & Ryan Lewis , Demi Lovato , A$AP Rocky and Miley Cyrus who closed the show surrounded by alumni of cult show RuPaul's Drag Race and announcing the release of a free album entitled Miley Cyrus & Dem Petz
