Band aids certainly don't fix bullet holes, where Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are concerned. Pop's biggest feud looks set to take another turn. It appears Perry has responded to Swift's Bad Blood with her own track , entitled 1984.
The title is a blatant nod to Swift's huge current album 1989 , and was co-penned by TLC and Madonna hit maker Dallas Austin.
Music's answer to Victoria Grayson versus Emily Thorne apparently stems back to Perry allegedly stealing dancers from Swift to perform with her on her Prismatic World Tour.
Swift penned her current global smash Bad Blood about her current relationship with Perry. In a Rolling Stone interview last year , Swift said that she was sworn enemies with an unnamed fellow female pop star and said that the singer in question would walk up to her at awards show , throw some shade and walk off.
Swift has never confirmed the rumours of tension between her and Perry. However , at around the same time of that interview , Perry shadily tweeted - "Watch out for the Regina George in sheeps clothing "
A not very subtle reference to the villainess of cult classic Mean Girls.
It was reported that Perry refused to show up at last months Billboard Music Awards , having heard that Swift would be in attendance with her squad of celebrity chums including Selena Gomez , Karli Kloss and Zendaya.
Perry was reportedly worried she would be heckled by Swift's celeb chums.
But does this run a lot deeper than simply stolen dancers. Both Swift and Perry have an ex in common in the form of womanising singer/songwriter John Mayer.
Swift famously wrote the track Dear John , from her third album Speak Now , about her relationship with Mayer.
As for Perry , well she's got form for throwing shade at fellow singers , despite her own limited vocal capabilities.
When Gaga released her Alejandro video in 2010 , Perry made a dig about singers whom used religious imagery in their video's. There was also the monstrous side eye she was serving Miley Cyrus at last years MTV Video Music Awards , when Miley sent a homeless fan up on her behalf to receive her Video of The Year gong.
There also been rumours of distance between herself and former BFF , Rihanna.
Perry has however , yet to publicly address the rumours of a feud between herself and Swift. And she cant help but feel envious at the staggering success Swift is having right now. Having had her day in the sun with the Teenage Dream album , it is Swift who is eclipsing everyone from Beyoncé , Madonna and Gaga with her 1989 album.
It's all very childish and bitchy , but incredibly fun with more shade than a season of RuPaul's Drag Race.
Watch this space. With a forthcoming album to flog and her pop crown to claw back , Perry is sure to not take it all lying down and retaliate soon.
