British singer MNEK finally struck solo gold alongside Swedish sensation Zara Larsson. The tracks slow burn success saw it crack the UK Top 5.
17. FIRESTONE - Kygo feat, Conrad Sewell
Norwegian DJ Kygo teamed with Australian singer Conrad Sewell for a slice f memorable tropical pop that lit up the late Spring.

Style had long been tipped to be the worldwide smash that would highlight the inevitable global dominance of 1989. However , it was overshadowed by Blank Space and a disappointingly beige video. It still remains pop at its most glorious , sophisticated and frivolous.
8. THE OTHER BOYS - NERVO feat Kylie Minogue , Jake Shears & Niles Rodgers
Combining the Australian electropop duo with Kylie , Jake Shears and the legendary Niles Rodgers was always gonna result in a funk fuelled banger.
7. EX'S AND OH'S - Elle King
A huge hit Stateside , Elle King is sure to repeat its success globally in 2016. The raspy brazen roar of Ex's And Oh's first emerged in 2014. A year and a half on , the New York singer songwriter is Grammy nominated. This ballsy rock out will further conquer between now and Grammy night.

The criminally underrated Foxes unleashed an 80's neon pop banger that wouldnt have looked out of place on the Drive soudtrack.

Australian rising star Sivan gave a brief taste of Blue Nieghbourhood. 2016 is his for the taking, Wild indeed
4. THE HILLS - The Weeknd
Moody , menacing and truly addictive. The Weeknd stormed the charts with this sinister lament on drugs , lust and fame. Hypnotic and intoxicating , the Canadian star was only getting started.
3. ALL MY LOVE - Watermat , Becky Hill & TAI
Why Becky Hill is not a dominant force in music remains a mystery. She shone on this track that was bafflingly ignored.
2. LEAN ON - Major Lazer feat DJ Snake & MO
One of the true defining tracks of 2015. A bouncy , intoxicating collaboration between Diplo's Major Lazer collective , DJ Snake and Danish singer MO.
Undoubtedly one of the year , its commercial success was a joy to watch
1. CANT FEEL MY FACE - The Weeknd
And a star was born. Abel Tesayo was the toast of the blogosphere before Earned It gave him his first taste of overdue mainstream success.
But it was Cant Feel My Face that signalled the dawn of a new force in music. Gliding to Number 1 on a track Michael Jackson would have killed for. The Weeknd is The Playlist's Artist of 2015. Nobody could have predicted his long overdue commercial success. But how richly deserving it was. A modern pop classic
