BRIT AWARDS 2015 - Sam Smith leads nominations

As expected Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran lead the pack as the nominations for this years BRIT Awards were revealed.
Smith adds to his six Grammy nominations with nods for Best British Male , Best British Album , Best British Breakthrough , Best British Single and Best British Video.

He will duke it out with fellow multiple nominee Ed Sheeran for Best British Male , alongside Paolo Nutini , George Ezra , Damon Albarn.


Ella Henderson and FKA Twigs lead the charge for the females with two nominations each. They battle it with Paloma Faith , Lily Allen & Jessie Ware for Best British Female. Allen previously scooped the gong in 2010.

George Ezra , also cleaned up with 4 nominations with Wanted on Voyage up for Best British Album and Budapest claiming a nod for Best British Single. His other nominations come in Best British Breakthrough and Best British Male

 

Meanwhile in the prestigious Best British Group category , past winners Coldplay go head to head with Royal Blood , Clean Bandit , One Direction and Alt -J.
The ever competitive Best British Single sees Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars , Ella Henderson , Ed Sheeran , George Ezra , Sam Smith , Calvin Harris , Duke Dumont , Sigma , Route 94   all nominated.

In the international categories Hozier , Taylor Swift , Beyoncé ,  St Vincent , Lana del Rey , Sia , Pharrell Williams , 5 seconds To Summer , The War On Drugs , Foo Fighters and John Legend are all nominated.


The BRIT Awards 2015 will take place on Wednesday February 25th , live on ITV from the O2 Arena in London. Hosted by Ant n Dec , performers confirmed so far include Ed Sheeran , Taylor Swift , Paloma Faith , George Ezra , Royal Blood and Sam Smith.
