Gaga teases Perfect Illusion

Lady Gaga will finally unveil her long awaited new single Perfect Illusion this Friday. The track  was produced byGaga alongside Mark Ronson , Tame Impala lead singer Kevin Parker and BloodPop. It is Mother Monster's first new material in over three years.

Gaga will be hoping it receives a better reception than the lukewarm response to 2013's Applause. That track was seen as a commercial and artistic disappointment. And for all the genuine high's the much maligned ARTPOP album had. The campaign itself was killed within weeks of its release with the non video for Do What U Want.

But these seem positively more exciting times for Gaga. There's been very little in the way of self hype which has accompanied her last two albums. Gaga has also enjoyed a mini renaissance with her award winning turn in American Horror Story and an Oscar nomination and critically lauded performance at the ceremony itself.
Elsewhere , collaborators such as Elton John , Mark Ronson and Niles Rodgers have heaped gushing praise upon the singers forthcoming fifth studio album. So all in all , everything bodes well for this latest stage of Gaga's career.

At the iHeartRadio Music Summit last month Mother Monster described the inspirations of the song this way: ""The song is about modern ecstasy... We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it... I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it."
Gaga took to Twitter to share lyrics from the new single  "I don't need eyes to see/ I felt you touchin' me/ High like amphetamine/ Maybe you're just a dream."

Perfect Illusion is out this Friday and no doubt will top iTunes tallies around the world within hours of its eagerly anticipated release.
