The 90's revival continues in spectacularly nostalgic fashion as PJ and Duncans 1993 hit Lets Get Ready To Rhumble stormed the iTunes chart overnight.
Ant and Dec , who performed as their Byker Grove characters in the early 90's , reformed for a showstopping performance on their Saturday Night Takeaway show last night. It was part of a closing segment that featured acts from ITV's smash hit Big Reunion series perform together.
Five , Atomic Kitten and Blue all performed before Ant and Dec slipped back into their baggy jeans and baseball tops to perform as PJ and Duncan , to a rapturous audience reception.
Within hours the track was soaring up iTunes , and 24 hours on , it now sits at Number 2.
There is now a distinct possibility that Lets Get Ready To Rhumble may top the charts on Easter Sunday , 19 years after it originally peaked at Number 9.
Prior to finding fame as TV presenters , Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly starred in BBC kids series Byker Grove as the hugely popular PJ & Duncan. As their alter ego's , they had a few hits between 1993 and 1995. They then dropped the alter ego's to their own names Ant n Dec , whee they continued to have moderate chart success with Shout and When I Fall In Love , before quitting pop in 1997.
In their time as popstars though , they never topped the charts. Now momentum is speeding like a locomotion train , and in could see them at the top of the charts this Easter. A resurrection Jesus himself would be proud of.
