James Leon 'Loves The Music ' on sparkling new remix

You may remember we featured London synth pop star James Leon in March last year as someone to keep an eye and ear out for. James had independently released the album Never Been Cool , and had since been working on follow up material.
I was lucky to hear one of his current tracks , the fantastically carefree , clubby pop of I Love The Music ( The First Night )

The song in its original form is insanely catchy , enhanced by James' Erasure-esque vocals. It's an illuminous electro pop stomper that should rightly soundtrack any wild night from Soho to Southampton and beyond. A weekend anthem that will indeed make you love the music.

Now the track has been remixed by up and coming Mancunian Petey James. Petey , by the way , is another new name keep a look out for . The results of the remix are glorious to say the least. The already hedonistic electro pop has been enhanced by Balearic beats , and takes the essence of the song which James describes as "feeling free and thinking fuck it " and adds current EDM leanings and clubland nuance, notching the illuminous pop up another million paces. As one of Petey James first official remixes , its a triumph. Truly the sound of a packed and happy 2am dancefloor.
And fuck it , it pretty damn well works. It's just gloriously catchy , polished yet unapologetically carefree electro pop.
If it doesn't make you wanna knock back another shot and dance , then you are either sedated or deaf.
The remix should be available on iTunes in the New Year.
